Wayne Weitz

Wayne P. Weitz is a Certified Turnaround Professional with more than three decades of experience spanning turnaround management, financial and operational restructuring, bankruptcy, mergers and acquisitions, and complex bondholder litigation. His practice encompasses debtor and borrower advisory, secured and unsecured creditor representation, offshore and cross-border insolvency, valuation, litigation support, and both statutory and ad hoc committee engagements.

Wayne originally joined the firm in 2008 and was one of the senior professionals who opened GlassRatner’s New York office in 2009.

Throughout his restructuring career, Wayne has concentrated on advising distressed companies and their stakeholders — in and out of court, domestically and across borders. Prior to becoming a restructuring professional, he held senior roles in the corporate sector with responsibilities spanning capital allocation, strategic planning, international acquisitions, and deal execution. He launched his career in investment banking and has since completed nearly 100 transactions across acquisitions, dispositions, and capital formation.

Wayne serves on the board of the American Bankruptcy Institute and previously co-chaired its Financial Advisors and Investment Banking Committee. He is Treasurer of the New York chapter of the Turnaround Management Association — the largest TMA chapter globally. Wayne holds a BA from Brandeis University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, along with the CTP designation. He has also earned the Intermediate Sommelier Certification from the National Wine School.
