Ray Moran is a Managing Director at GlassRatner. His practice focuses on tangible asset valuations for financial reporting, tax compliance, bankruptcy and restructuring, equipment financing, and cross-border valuation engagements. He has sold and managed real estate, machinery, business valuations and fairness opinions worldwide, leveraging networks and relationships on six continents.
Mr. Moran has extensive experience in valuation services, in a variety of roles worldwide. Prior to joining GlassRatner, he was a Managing Director with FON Advisors, managing valuations throughout the US and worldwide, and founded MG Valuation, a firm operating in 17 countries worldwide. Prior to forming MG Valuation, Mr. Moran was Senior Vice President and Managing Director of American Appraisal Associates Asia/Pacific operations, lived and worked in China, and helped start valuation practices in Japan, Australia, India and Singapore. He managed American Appraisals US real estate, and machinery & equipment groups. He was also a Manager with Coopers & Lybrand, in their National Practice Office.
He is Chair of the International Institute of Business Valuers (iiBV), in addition to managing its marketing committee, promoting business valuation education worldwide. Mr. Moran is past editor of the American Society of Appraisers Machinery & Technical Specialties Journal, and past member of the RICS Americas Plant Machinery Committee. His professional designations include Accredited Senior Appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers, and Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Mr. Moran is a frequent speaker and author on valuation issues, having spoken in a dozen countries throughout North America, Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia/Pacific. He is a contributing author to Financial Valuation: Applications and Models, published articles on the Valuation and Bankruptcy Laws and Regulations in India in Business Valuation Update. co-authored Foreign Investments in US Real Estate, published in American Real Estate and Services, and OnLine Exchanges and Auctions, published in the ASA M&TS Journal.

and Asia/Pacific; valuing the production facilities of a ceramic proppants company for Chapter 11
bankruptcy purposes. - Real Estate and Construction experience includes valuing commercial real estate in the USA for
institutional investors in Europe and Japan; valuing real and personal property in the hospitality
segment for financing, business combinations and property tax purposes throughout the USA,
Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia/Pacific.
Mr. Moran is a triathlete and marathoner, races for Team USA in the World Triathlon Championships in Australia, and finished the Abbott Marathon Majors including New York City, Boston, Chicago, London, Berlin and Tokyo.
