Joe brings 35 years of experience in forensic accounting, independent investigations, and financial and disputes consulting. He began his career at Arthur Andersen, later became a Founder and Managing Director at Huron Consulting Group, served as a Managing Director at Stout, and most recently was a Principal at Global Economics Group.
Joe has extensive experience analyzing economic damages, lost profits, financial reporting issues, contract disputes, post-acquisition disputes, enterprise valuations, and commercial fraud. He is an experienced testifier and has testified approximately 20 times in depositions and hearings in both state and federal court. He has advised clients across a wide range of industries, including financial services, insurance, higher education, healthcare, commercial real estate, and public utilities.
Notable client engagements include independent investigations of Fannie Mae and Peoples Energy Corporation. Joe has also served as an expert witness in a dispute related to the bankruptcy liquidation of Comdisco and in a regulatory matter between the U.S. Department of Education and DeVry Education Group.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is also Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF).
