Jeremy Waters is an accomplished upstream and midstream professional possessing over 20 years of diversified E&P experience with domestic service companies, consulting firms, and leading independent producers.

Mr. Waters has comprehensive hands-on experience in oil & gas drilling, completion, and production operations. His background includes direct responsibility for each phase in field development projects – petroleum reservoir quality prediction, economic evaluations, well planning and design, site preparation, rig selection, cased and open hole log evaluation, well completions, surface facility design and operations, chemical treatment and monitoring, produced water handling, oil & gas marketing and transportation logistics, and regulatory compliance.

In addition, Mr. Waters has knowledge and skills in many related upstream and midstream activities, including, but not limited to, contract negotiations, project management, risk assessments, construction and commissioning of oil & gas production facilities, incident investigations, gathering and transmission pipeline maintenance, operation and maintenance of compressors, pumping stations and other process equipment, personnel safety and training, well control, and analysis of blowouts, failures, and environmental issues.

Mr. Waters’s extensive experience in the oilfield translates to excellent abilities to advise all types of stakeholders (operators, non-operated working and royalty interest holders, private equity backers, service companies, insurers, etc.) and their legal representatives at any phase of field development in the oil & gas industry, or through a forensic engineering/failure analysis of circumstances surrounding adverse events in all sectors of the energy and mineral exploitation industries.

Renewable Fuels

  • Renewable Diesel Facility Arbitration, Kansas: Reviewed the root causes of trips and shutdowns during the commissioning and start-up of a 6,500 BPD capacity production plant converting beef tallow and distillers’ corn oil (DCO) into renewable diesel fuel for fleet use. Took the lead on the review of the parties’ production documents and drawings for the pre-treatment unit (PTU) that removes impurities from the raw feed materials. Assisted in the engineering analysis of defects in the design and construction of the facilities by the EPC contractor.

Downstream Oil & Gas

  • Process Module Supplier, India: Performed review of 30%/60%/90%/issued for construction (IFC) 3D models issued during the evolution of the design of five large pressure letdown modules fabricated and assembled in Texas, then loaded out and shipped to a refinery in southeast India as part of a refinery upgrading project to assess the significance of the changes in the successive models. Determined that the 90% models were very close to the IFC 3D models. Led the review of piping ISO drawings and revisions generated from the 3D models which concluded that the limited number of changes did not significantly impact small bore piping fabrication work by the fabrication and assembly contractor.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Oil and Gas Operator, West Texas: Assisted in the analysis of natural gas fueled hydraulic fracturing equipment operations in a matter that resulted in the personal injury of a service provider employee.
  • Oil and Gas Services Provider, West Texas:Assisted in the analysis of hydraulic fracturing equipment operations in a matter that resulted in personal injury to an equipment operator working for a service provider.
