Elbert Choi is a Managing Director at GlassRatner with more than 25 years of experience providing valuation services related to business interests and intangible assets. His expertise spans a broad range of accounting, tax, and corporate matters, including business combinations, impairment testing, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, fairness opinions, federal and state tax planning, estate and gift tax planning, shareholder and other litigation matters, and bankruptcy reorganizations.
Prior to joining GlassRatner, Mr. Choi served as a Vice President at FON Valuation Services primarily performing valuations pertaining to financial reporting and strategic advisory purposes. Previously, he was a Senior Vice President at Hilco Global’s Enterprise Valuation team. While at Hilco, he performed business and intellectual property valuations primarily for lending and collateral purposes conducting engagements both for pre deal due diligence purposes as well as distressed and workout situations which often led to bankruptcy scenarios. In these engagements Mr. Choi worked closely with the lender/creditor, the legal representations as well as the workout or turnaround firms that were brought in to rectify the situation.
Mr. Choi has also been deposed and ultimately testified as an expert witness in various shareholder disputes and marital dissolution cases.
