Daniel Agauas is a Managing Director at GlassRatner. He is part of the Forensic Accounting & Litigation Support practice, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has over 19 years of experience providing litigation support, business valuation, and forensic accounting services.

Mr. Agauas is a Chartered Financial Analysis (CFA) charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute. He has been engaged in matters relating to shareholder disputes, lost profit calculations, breach of contracts, and forensic examination matters. Mr. Agauas’s involvement has covered the entire litigation support process, including discovery assistance, complex data analysis, damages calculations, and expert reports and testimony. In addition, he is adept at financial statement analysis, market research, and developing financial modeling tools.

Mr. Agauas is also an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) and a member of the American Society of Appraisers. His business valuation experience includes valuations for shareholder disputes, estate and gift tax purposes, mergers and acquisitions, divorces, and business planning. The valuations have encompassed non-marketable, controlling and minority interests in corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies.

Daniel is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a member of the Association of CFEs. He has performed numerous fraud examination projects, including cash flow tracing, asset misappropriation, and embezzlement matters.

Daniel joined Crawford & Winiarski (a legacy firm of GlassRatner) in July 2013. Prior to joining the firm, Daniel provided litigation support and business valuation services at a global public accounting and consulting firm since 2007. He also performed market research analysis for companies seeking to export their products and services as an intern at the Department of Commerce. During the last ten years, Daniel has been a member and vice-chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Troy (2017-2020) and a member of the Richland Township Zoning Board of Appeals (2021-present).

  • Provided deposition and trial testimony in Oakland County Circuit Court that successfully established that the plaintiff laboratory testing company had incurred $5 million in lost profits in a breach of contract matter
  • Prepared an expert report and provided deposition testimony in a business dispute involving a shutdown steel processing mill, including a calculation of lost profits and lost business value
  • Provided arbitration testimony on behalf of Citibank’s defense against a plaintiff’s lost investment claim
